Conselhos livres

Trabalho em um ramo difícil. Às vezes, me sinto assustado. Há mentiras, dificuldades e situações que não têm fáceis soluções. Ontem, escrevi várias frases em um caderno preto sobre meu trabalho e minha vida profissional em geral. São conselhos livres, mais para mim do que para os outros. Em inglês, então.


Trading
If you aren't sure about a trade, there is probably a reason for it. Stop right there.

If at first you think something is wrong, it most likely is wrong.

Remember that Wall Street is a den of thieves, liars, and con artists.

Everyone makes mistakes. Don't make a second mistake trying to cover the first.

Overconfidence is your worst enemy.

Personal Relationships
Be careful who you trust. Whereas in life you might give someone the benefit of the doubt, in business only trust people once they prove themselves.

Know who your friends are.

Friends are hard to make. Keep them.

Do not make enemies, no matter how tempting.

Attitude
Celebrate your successes.

Mistakes happen. Learn from them, don't dwell on them.

Enjoy life. That is the point.

Do not stop learning and do not forget what you know.

Portfolio Management
Be a little bit contrarian. You will benefit when the herd is wrong but avoid being caught beneath the stampede.

Have a plan and stick to it.

Be humble. If you are not humble already then the market will teach you humility.

Never risk everything.

Sell to the sleeping point.
