Old Age

Conselhos livres

Trabalho em um ramo difícil. Às vezes, me sinto assustado.

Trading
If you aren't sure about a trade, there is probably a reason for it. Stop right there.

If at first you think something is wrong, it most likely is wrong.

Remember that Wall Street is a den of thieves, liars, and con artists.

Everyone makes mistakes. Don't make a second mistake trying to cover the first.

Overconfidence is your worst enemy.

Personal Relationships
Be careful who you trust. Whereas in life you might give someone the benefit of the doubt, in business only trust people once they prove themselves.

Know who your friends are.

Friends are hard to make. Keep them.

Do not make enemies, no matter how tempting.

Attitude
Celebrate your successes.

Mistakes happen. Learn from them, don't dwell on them.

Enjoy life. That is the point.

Do not stop learning and do not forget what you know.

Portfolio Management
Be a little bit contrarian. You will benefit when the herd is wrong but avoid being caught beneath the stampede.

Have a plan and stick to it.

Be humble. If you are not humble already then the market will teach you humility.

Never risk everything.

Sell to the sleeping point.

Tal vez haya vivido tanto
en tan poco y tan corto tiempo
que no sé ni que idioma hablo
ni que velas cargo
dentro de este entierro

Siento que no tengo fuerzas ya
para saltar y agarrar el sol
y por más que yo lo intente
no me escucho ni mi propia voz

Ya no se si he vivido
diez mil dias o un dia
diez mil veces
y te sumo a mi historia
queriendo cambiar las pérdidas
por creces

Te necesito, te necesito mi amor
donde quiera que tu estes
me hace falta tu calor
Te necesito, te necesito mi amor
por que eres parte de mi
te necesito aqui
es que no se vivir sin ti
no he aprendido...

y me encuntro así perdida
como una aguja en un pajar
como arenas movedizas
me sumerjo entre mi soledad

Ya no se si he vivido
diez mil dias o un dia
diez mil veces
y te sumo a mi historia
queriendo cambiar las pérdidas
por creces

Te necesito, te necesito mi amor
donde quiera que tu estes
me hace falta tu calor
Te necesito, te necesito mi amor
por que eres parte de mi
te necesito aqui
es que no se vivir sin ti

Loving Hitchcock even more

Scared to death, I watched Vertigo alone in my mother's living room last night. After watching the movie, I realized that the title is suggestive of end, but it is very easy to get involved with the plot and not think about the title. During the movie, I wondered if the title was right for the movie. But, nooo... There is an important relationship between the title and the movie itself. And I cannot say it!
I am a big fan of Hitchcock's work, but every time I play a movie that is new to me, I am amazed by his capacity to surprise the audience. He was a genious, in my opinion.
I am usually frightened by mystery and thriller movies, and I was especially scared by such a good combination of the two. Still, I have to admit that this one was worth the fear.
My biggest problem with Hitchcock's movies is that I almost give away the ending every time I write about it.

As maquinas do café

A máquina usada decidiu funcionar no segundo dia.

Decidi aceitar a proposta.

My girl friends and the women in my family decided to throw a bachelorette party for me in Brazil. I know I am not going to get married in the next 10 years (kidding, that's my expiration date to have children, actually), but I think it's a cultural thing.
In my country, when a couple decides to move in together, this new sort of life is considered a marriage. Most of young people here live with their parents during, and even after graduation, and people see as a big step to leave the parent's house, especially if the person is going to live with their significant other. I am an exception because I have been living by myself since I was 18 years old.
Anyway, I started to take care of the party today - o chá de lingerie - and I went to a sex shop. It was not my first time there - these places have wonderful lingerie -, but I always feel a little bit uncomfortable seeing those things that measure 30cm or more. It is just too much.
I also bought some little gifts for my girl friends and decorations. I am pretty happy and excited about the party because my friends who live in Porto Alegre are going to Pelotas to join me. They also want to go out there. And the best part, I will get lots of beautiful brazilian lingerie before going to the US!
Not that I have something against american lingerie... But in general I think they are too big for brazilian women.
